Lounge Candelas is open seven nights a week, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Entertainment is offered Thursday thru Saturday with the intent of providing a unique sound rarely heard in San Diego. Hours: The lounge is open at 5:00 p.m. seven nights of the week. Live music begins at 9:00 p.m according to our program schedule. . Closing time on Fridays and Saturdays is 2:00 a.m. Closing time all other nights is up to you, but not later than 2:00 a.m. If you want to hang around, so do we. If you want to go home early, we'll follow you out the door.

Admission: From Sunday thru Thursday, admission is free. On weekends, the price is $10 cash after 10:00 p.m. We've always suggested arriving before 10:00 p.m. to avoid being charged, and similarly to avoid waiting due to capacity limitations. Don't sleep. Admission policy is subject to change for special events. Just call ahead to be sure.

Capacity: The lounge holds about 70 persons comfortably, with considerable overflow space in the restaurant bar and dining areas. Once the lounge nears capacity, you may be asked to wait before entering. Arrive early, however, and this will never be the case. If you anticipate arriving with a large group, call or email ahead of time for guaranteed admission.

Door Policy: Use common sense. If you've noticed, the restaurant is an upscale, top rated establishment. Keeping this in mind, the lounge is somewhat subject to these standards. We have a pretty hip, urban, international base of regular customers. Look presentable. If you take a shower before arriving and show up in decent clean clothes, you shouldn't have a problem getting in the door. Simple.

Conduct: It's easy to say, "use common sense," again, but this is a drinking establishment, after all. Anyone entering the lounge is expected to observe common rules of courtesy and respect all others in the club, including its staff and performers. You will be escorted out if you are making a nuisance of yourself. We'll be the judge of that considering your own judgment may be alcoholically impaired. No illegal substances or drugs are allowed. No weapons are allowed. In either case you will be asked to leave the party. Just be cool and enjoy yourself.

Smoking Policy: In the state of California, smoking is not allowed in restaurants and bars. There is smoking area on the sidewalk outside at the entrance. If you smoke, it's not bad. It gives you a good reason to commiserate with friends and meet like-minded people.

Coat Check: We haven't implemented a coat check, but we've installed a wall hung coat rack next to the DJ booth. It seems to be working well, and is a relief to the DJ who no longer is taking in a large number of coats a nightly basis.

Wheelchair Access: Lounge Candelas is located on the ground floor and is in compliance with San Diego's city codes.
